What is Body Fat Percentage?
Body fat percentage is the total mass of fat divided by total body mass. This calculator uses the US Navy method, which uses body circumference measurements to estimate body fat. While not as precise as DEXA scans, it provides a reasonable estimate without equipment.
How to Measure
Neck: measure just below the larynx. Waist (men): measure at the narrowest point, usually at the navel. Waist (women): measure at the narrowest point. Hips (women): measure at the widest point around the buttocks.
